The Cleveland Works plant alone has the capacity to
produce nearly five million tons of raw steel annually.
The Cleveland Works' continuous anneal line (CAL) is
designed to provide consistent mechanical properties
across the width (and head to tail) of each coil because
of uniform heating, cooling and continuous temper
rolling. CAL products offer superior shape and flatness,
and enhanced surface quality with greater paintability.
These products are ideal for LTV's Direct Hot Charge Complex (DHCC) converts molten iron from the blast furnaces to a hot rolled coil in a highly efficient, continuous operation. A computer network monitors and schedules the DHCC, using artificial intelligence to ensure a smooth flow of steel and optimize plant production. Applications
